Fishing for the Future
Sustainability
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an independent, global, non-profit organisation established in 1997 by the World Wildlife Fund, International Conservation Organisation and major food companies to ensure fish stocks are managed for the future.
The Marine Stewardship Council eco-label is awarded to fisheries that have achieved certification to its sustainability standards.
John West is proud to be the only brand of canned salmon in Australia to carry the MSC Certification on all our Red and Pink Salmon products canned in Alaska.

Dolphin Friendly Policy
Tuna schools often swim under dolphin pods and some fisherman use the dolphins to locate the tuna.
But some unacceptable fishing methods — particularly drift and gill netting — can put dolphins at risk.
John West tuna is fished by pole and line or long line fishing.
We will never buy tuna caught in any manner which harms or kills dolphins or other mammals.
It's that simple.
